College of Southern Nevada - Cheyenne Campus
Founded in 1971, the College of Southern Nevada is a state-supported institution of higher learning offering two-year degrees, certificates and workforce training. CSN offers more than 3,000 courses each semester in over 130 fields of study with more than 215 degree and certificate options. Those planning to attend a four-year college or university will find that the college offers many transferable courses to fit most every educational need.
Opened in 1974, the Cheyenne Campus is the oldest of our three main campuses. Most of the campus is housed under one roof. Our student services areas are centralized making for easy access to critical areas such as Financial Aid and Testing. With a state-of-the-art computer lab staffed with highly qualified professionals, the Cheyenne Campus offers a comprehensive learning environment for our students.
Students can take a variety of general education courses at the Cheyenne campus as well as performing arts courses, design courses and more. Several key programs are located at the Cheyenne Campus. The Culinary Arts program is a model for many institutions across the country and has produced gold and silver medal winners in various national competitions. The Automotive Technology program is the national pilot program location for the GM Assessment Center and features a national training center for the National Alternative Fuel Training Consortium.
The Cheyenne Campus also houses the Planetarium, which is both a community resource and a resource for local educators through the NASA/Nevada Regional Education Resource Center. Cisco Systems has partnered with CSN to help produce one of the largest training and Cisco Certification Academies in the country on this campus. The program is housed in our state-of-the-art Telecommunications and Media Technologies Training Facility.
